The Dayle McIntosh Center (DMC) relies on support from the community to help address specific needs in the lives of people with disabilities and to develop, deliver, and expand services.
Examples of areas where the organization needs financial support include:
- Helping with expenses necessary to move a person from a nursing home back into the community such as buying furniture and household items, paying utility and rent deposits, and making structural changes for accessibility. While DMC has staff to coordinate relocation, the center does not have funds for these direct costs.
- Supporting adolescents with disabilities to gain the knowledge and skills to live independently by providing funds for the DMC youth program. Financial aid is needed for cooking supplies, learning and recreational activities, transportation costs, and training materials.
DMC also welcomes in-kind donations such as office supplies, professional services like printing, and durable medical equipment like wheelchairs, walkers, and support canes.
