Aging with Vision Loss Program
A separate component of independent living skills training is the Aging with Vision Loss Program targeted to individuals, who are at least fifty-five years old and who are experiencing significant vision loss as part of the aging process. Specialized assistance is provided in areas such as use of public transportation, orientation to the home and immediate community, white cane travel, Braille, microwave cooking, and use of visual aids and adaptive devices. This one-to-one assistance is provided in the homes of participants.
