DMC Client Success Story

A young man named Anthony out of the Laguna Hills office started coming to Job club at which time we worked on his filling out application and going over a few interview questions. At Job club I told him about an open recruitment at the one stop with Toys ‘R’ Us. We rehearsed interview questions and I encouraged him to talk about his past successes. He went down to Toys ‘R’ Us and was hired on the spot. After only two weeks in Job Club, Anthony obtained a great position that he loves! Thank you to Dennis McGuire for his support and Anthony for his hard work.

DMC Client Success Story

This month Dolores Kollmer decided to do something out of the norm.... She had an employer who needed to fill 40 to 50 telemarketing positions in Ontario. Her clients were unable to apply for these positions due to transportation issues, so she contacted the Supervisor in the Upland DR Office and asked for help, even though DMC does not have a contract with that district. The Bottom line is keeping the employer happy, placing clients and working together as partners. What a great display of team effort!

DMC Client Success Story

After working with Paula, a completely blind former teacher, for almost a year, I secured her a priority interview at Team of Advocates for Special Kids, in Anaheim, for a position related to her field of special education. Before the interview, I worked with Paula to educate her about ADA, IDEA and other legislation related to the position. After she was offered the position, the interviewer told me that in addition to her experience and skills, they were very impressed with her knowledge of related legislation and chose her over others who interviewed due to her outstanding knowledge of these laws. It just goes to show that good preparation can make the difference! Paula loves her new job where her supervisor and coworkers are extremely supportive and the assistive technology she needed was provided immediately to her. Congratulations Paula on your new job, and thank you to RC Robert Antunez and Braille Institute for their fast response to her AT needs.
